Description: The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission established this event to promote and support local arts and the community through arts-inspired entertainment, education, exhibits, and sales. The festival showcases all forms of creative expression, such as visual arts, dance, music, the written word, and theater in the setting of a town-wide celebration. Friday night on the Main Stage: Flagpole Radio Cafe Orchestra! (7 p.m.-10:30 p.m.). Tickets available only online “$20 Lawn, $25 VIP.” Saturday and Sunday: Vendors, food, music, demonstrations, hands on art activities (11 a.m.-5 p.m.). Tickets sold at Gate only.

Event: 9th Annual Fiddle n Folk Fest
Venue: Haines Memorial State Park – Barrington

Description: On September 21 from noon – 5:00 pm, Local Brew Events’ 9th annual Fiddle n Folk Fest will take place in Haines Park, Barrington (near the boat launch). Featuring 10 bands (The Vox Hunters, Old Dog Daddy and the Dagnabbits, Hollow Turtle, John Fuzek, Drownville Station, The Lazy Sundays, Ed DesJardins, Oak Hill, Lost Set of Keys, and Old Fiddlers Club of RI), storytelling by Len Cabral, food trucks, craft vendors, dancing, and kids activities, it’s bound to be a rousing event. Join the all-levels fiddle jam with Michelle Kaminsky from 10:30- noon. Bring a chair and a blanket and enjoy the day overlooking Narragansett Bay.

Event: 59th Annual Lewisboro Library Fair

Description: Get ready for Lewisboro’s largest annual event! The 59th annual Lewisboro Library Fair is Saturday, September 21 from 10 am to 4 pm at Onatru Farm Town Park (99 Elmwood Road in South Salem).  The Fair features huge Book, Attic Treasure and Toy sales, food, music, vintage cars, children’s games, exhibitors and activities, local vendors and community groups – and a Gnome Scavenger Hunt! The Book, Toy and Sporting Equipment Pre-Sale is Thursday, September 19 from 5 to 9 pm. Admission is free for Lewisboro residents; there is a $20 admission fee for non-residents. The Book Pre-Sale continues Friday, September 20 from 9 am to 5 pm, with free admission for all. There will be an After-Sale of bargains on Sunday, September 22 from 10 am to 2 pm.
