The event will be held inside the museum’s Gathering Space with its soaring glass ceiling.

Event: Veteran’s Day Ceremony: Past, Present and Future
Venue: Institute for American Indian Studies – Washington
Date: November 10
Description: Did you know that Native Americans have served in the United States military with the highest record of service per capita when compared to any other ethnic group? Each year IAIS honors local Native Americans who have served. This year, the ceremony will recognize Golden Hill Paugussett community members who represent past, present and future veterans. The honorees include Chief Aurelius Piper Sr., deceased, who served during World War II; Gary Tinney, who served in Germany, England, Korea and State side; and the sons of Clan-mother Shoran Piper, Jeremy Cole and Nikita Kuznetsov, who are currently serving in the military. Join us for a ceremony to honor and remember these and all veterans, Native and Non-Native, who have served our country. Following a traditional ceremony in the outdoor village, participants and visitors are invited to a light lunch in the museum.

Event: The Rock and Roll Playhouse Presents The Music of The Beatles for Kids (AM SHOW)

Description: We’re back! The Rock and Roll Playhouse is excited to return to Port Chester for the Fall season with more family concerts at Garcia’s! Join us on Saturday, November 9th for The Music of The Beatles For Kids. Doors at 11:00 am and show at 11:30 am. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is a weekly children’s concert series that allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). The Playhouse offers its core audience of children aged 10 and under games, movement, stories, and an opportunity to rock out in a sensory-friendly environment while playing songs from musical icons such as the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, The Beatles, and more. Founded in 2013 in New York City, the Playhouse has now expanded to over thirty venues and cities across the United States.
