Event: Sea Music Festival
Venue: Mystics Seaport Museum – Mystic

Description: Mystic Seaport is proud to host its annual Sea Music Festival, one of the world’s premier sea music events. Fans of traditional sea music gather each year to hear national and international performers, along with the museum’s chantey staff, perform music from the golden Age of Sail through the best of contemporary compositions. The weekend’s festivities include daytime and evening concerts, special performances for children, instructional workshops, and a unique opportunity to witness sea music at work aboard historic vessels. All workshops and daytime concerts in the festival are included in regular Mystic Seaport admission. Special tickets are required for Thursday through Saturday evening concerts.

Event: Barracudas, Marlins & More Show Cars from the Sea
Venue: The Maritime Aquarium – Norwalk
Date: June 8
Description: Appropriately for the event, only rare and exquisite car models whose names or nicknames were inspired by aquatic animals will be on display. “Barracudas, Marlins & More Show Cars from the Sea” auto show will be outside on the Aquarium’s riverfront courtyard, rain or shine. It’s free with admission: adults $24.95, seniors $22.95, children (3-12) $17.95.

Event: Annual Gaspee Days Parade
Venue: Pawtuxet Village – Warwick

Description: Since 1965, the Gaspee Days Committee has continued its efforts to preserve, promote, and share Rhode Island’s revolutionary history with the community – and what better way to do that than with over 50 years of our Gaspee Days Parade that combines elements of the past with the sparkling community of the present? Each year, folks crowd along a two-mile stretch of Narragansett Parkway anxiously awaiting the march of the parade. Be it the fife and drums corps, the fire trucks, or the Shriners in their miniature cars, everyone has a favorite to look forward to!

Event: Eastern Woodland Games
Venue: Casey Farm – Saunderstown
Date: June 8
Description: The Narragansett people have a long and deep connection to the land we now know as Casey Farm. Lorén Spears, visiting educator from the Tomaquag Museum, will connect you and your family to these traditions by playing games. Learn how to play hubbub, ring and pin, the hand game, and the moccasin game. You can join in the games right after a short break following the end of the Coastal Growers Market, under the big tent. Drop in and play the Narragansett way!
