Event: 23rd Annual Old Saybrook Chili Fest
Venue: Downtown Main Street – Old Saybrook
Date: March 2
Description: A community-wide, friendly competition featuring chili from 25 to 30 chefs. Area restaurants and organizations cook up their tastiest pot of chili to compete for the honor of “best chili.” Enjoy sampling a wide range of chili, from mild to spicy with names like La Jarocha, 50 Shades of Chili, and Golden In-Fern-O. This is truly a community-wide event with participation by area restaurants as well as non-profit and civic organizations. What makes this event unique is that each chili entrant is competing to win a donation for their designated charity. Ballots are ten dollars each and can be purchased at Ballot Stations along Main Street during the event, and in advance at the Chamber office, 1 Main Street in Old Saybrook.

Event: 24th Annual Stamford St. Patrick’s Day
Venue:  Summer & North Sts. – Stamford
Date: March 2
Description: Parade features more than 80 marching units from the tri-state area. A celebration of Irish history and culture, the parade continues to be enjoyed by individuals and families alike.

Rhode Island

Event: 27th Pawtucket St. Patrick’s Parade
Venue: St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center– Woonsocket
Date: March 2
Description: The 2019 Pawtucket St. Patrick’s Parade is the traditional kickoff to RI’s Irish Heritage Month. Festivities include a pre-parade 5k road race. The parade starts at noon at McCoy Stadium and will end at City Hall on Roosevelt Avenue. This year’s Grand Marshall is Frank McCabe, Chief Clerk of the RI House of Representatives. After parade party  Pawtucket Armory Arts Center with vendors, live music, food, and drinks.
