Event: 17th Annual Simsbury Celebrates
Venue:  Sites along Hopmeadow St. Route 10 – Simsbury

Description: Each Thanksgiving weekend downtown Simsbury is transformed into a magical winter wonderland. The free entertainment extravaganza is filled with family-friendly fun. Activities include a firetruck parade with Santa, music, performances, a Gingerbread House contest, food, and capped off by a fantastic fireworks display.

Event: Santa’s Arrival, Tree Lighting and Ice Skating

Event: Newport Harbor Illuminated Boat Parade

Description: The Newport Illuminated Boat Parade kicks off the holiday season with boats decorated with festive holiday decor and lights. The boats motor through the harbor and compete for best decorated in various categories. The parade begins at 6:15pm and can be viewed from various spots around the harbor. Caribbean Christmas and Holiday tunes on the steel pan with Panoramic View will be live at the North Pole. After the parade, enjoy a holiday stroll where locally-owned shops and restaurants will be open — many with special offers to make shopping for your loved ones, and yourself, a joy.

Event: Tree Lighting Celebration

Description: Join the Westchester Parks Foundation at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla to celebrate the opening of Westchester’s Winter Wonderlandpresented by Westchester Medical Center with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree. The fifth-annual event kicks-off Friday, November 23 at 5 p.m. with the official tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., led by County Executive George Latimer and Westchester Parks Foundation Chairperson Joanne Fernandez, sponsored by Robison Oil. Westchester’s Winter Wonderland is presented for the fifth year by Westchester Medical Center, sponsored by the Westchester Parks Foundation and produced by Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation.
