Event: Newtown Arts Festival
Venue:  Fairfield Hills Campus – Newtown
Date: September 14-16
Description: The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission established this event to promote and support local arts and the community through arts-inspired entertainment, education, exhibits, and sales. The festival showcases all forms of creative expression, such as visual arts, dance, music, the written word, and theater in the setting of a town-wide celebration. Friday night on the Main Stage: The Lords of 52nd Street (6 p.m.-10:30 p.m.). Tickets available only online” $25 Lawn, $35 VIP.
Saturday and Sunday: Vendors, food, music, demonstrations, hands on art activities (11 a.m.-5 p.m.). Tickets sold at Gate only.
Saturday night:  An Evening of the Arts (6 p.m.-10:30 p.m.). Tickets available only online: $20. Event is a short walk from train station or take a free shuttle bus.

Event: Milford Irish Festival
Venue:  Fowler Field Pavilion – Milford
Date: September 14-15
Description: Festival with day and night live music and entertainment, food trucks, beer tents, Irish wares and free children’s activities. Gaelic football and Hurling tournaments on Saturday afternoon.

Rhode Island

Event: 33rd Annual Folk Art Quilt Show
Venue: South County Museum – Narragansett
Date: September 14-16
Description: South County Museum will display more than 75 quilts made by local quilters as well as present programming on quilts housed in the museum’s collections. This year, the museum will highlight unfinished objects and what can be learned from them. The show runs from 10 am to 4 pm each day. The entrance fee is $10 per person; members are free. (Thursday, September 14th from 10 am – 4 pm is reserved for group tours and senior center groups to tour the quilt show before it opens to the public. Please call the museum to schedule your group tour.)

Event: 31st Annual Apple Festival
Venue: Johnston Memorial Park – Johnston
Date: September 15-16
Description: The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce hosts the Apple Festival draws over 5,000 people over the weekend and fills Johnston Memorial Park with music, laughter and the scent of apple pies and great food. This event is free and open to the public. Highlights for 2018: Artisan row, an apple pie baking contest, live entertainment, and pony and carnival rides! Free parking will be available at Johnston High School (345 Cherry Hill Rd.) and there will be complimentary shuttle service to the park.

Event:  Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst
Venue: Lyndhurst Estates – Tarrytown
