Venue: Goshen Fairgrounds – Goshen

Description: Major agricultural fair with livestock judging, draft horse show, woodcutting competition, entertainment, food vendors, midway, arts and crafts, home exhibits, and more. This celebration includes an adult spelling bee, fireworks, hay bale toss contest, parade, pie eating contest, and a skillet throw contest.
Event: Block Island Lions Club Annual Clambake
Venue: Narragansett Inn – Block Island

Description: The Block Island Lions Club will hold its annual clambake on Saturday, September 1st from 1:00 to 4:00 on the Lawn of the Narragansett Inn in New Harbor. The event includes two dining options, a full clambake dinner or a barbecue dinner: The clambake dinner is just $40.00 per person and includes: a lobster, a bag of clams and mussels, corn on the cob, sausage, Block Island clam chowder (Block Island clam chowder is a clear broth chowder) and two drink tickets which may be turned in for beer, wine or soft drinks. The Barbeque dinner is $20.00 per person and includes five food tickets which may be turned in for your choice of hamburger, hot dog, sausage, corn on the cob and Block Island clam chowder and two drink tickets. There will be live music all afternoon. There is a tent with seating, but feel free to bring your beach chair and blanket along to sit on the lawn.

Description: The 21st Annual Rhythm & Roots Festival is big Mardi Gras fun, New England-style. Ninigret Park is THE place to be on Labor Day Weekend! This long-running festival is a destination event for thousands of music and dance fans from all over the U.S. and Canada. R&R features award-winning roots music artists on the Main Stage and at two big tented dance floors, plus intimate one-of-a-kind workshops, smaller stages, and many family-friendly activities.

Venue: Kenise Barnes Fine Art – Larchmont

Description: Kenise Barnes Fine Art is pleased to present the fourth iteration of our emerging artist exhibition series Cool & Collected. Five artists age 35 and under were meticulously vetted by the exhibition’s curators, gallery manager Lani Holloway and associate Avery Syrig, who are themselves under 30. The show introduces new artistic explorations and movements within the millennial generation. Luscious painting in a variety of media by Katie Barrie (Richmond, VA), Rebecca Levitan (Providence, RI), Laini Nemett (Long Island City, NY), Alex Osborne (Brooklyn, NY and Paris, France), and Sophie Treppendahl (Richmond, VA) exemplify how the younger generation of artists stays cool and collected in these trying times and the last hot days of summer.
