Description: Mystic Seaport is pleased to welcome back Model Yacht Racing. The J Class and the East Coast 12 Meter class will once again take to the water off the museum’s north dock for what promises to be an exciting event hosted by the Mystic River Radio Sailors (AMYA CLUB #39) and in association with the American Model Yachting Association.
Event: SoNo Arts Celebration
Venue: Washington & Main Street – South Norwalk

Description: The festival showcases the works of more than 100 juried artists with live bands, tempting food vendors, special discounts at SoNo shops and restaurants and plenty of free hands-on activities for children and families in the Children’s Art Playground. The vibe is fresh, fun, funky and affordably cool art for everyone in every range. Many exciting surprises await a this amazing art adventure in the heart of SoNo’s waterfront design district. Enjoy the culinary delights by dining in the many diverse restaurant options. Annual puppet parade marches on August 5 at 2 p.m.

Event: Kingston Chamber Music Festival
Venue: University of Rhode Island Fine Arts Center Concert Hall – Kingston

Description: The final concert of the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, “The 30th Finale!,” will begin at 4:30 PM on Sunday, August 5 and ushers in a new KCMF experience with the inclusion of a 22-member chamber orchestra and the Festival debut of world-renowned violinist Hilary Hahn under the baton of Kensho Watanabe, the exciting young assistant conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra. The program will include Mozart’s Rondo for Piano and Orchestra in A Major with Reiko Uchida as pianist; two works by Bach, the Concerto in E Major featuring Hahn and the Double Violin Concerto in D Minor with Hahn and Juliette Kang, first associate concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra; and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Op 48 with the KCMF Chamber Orchestra.
Event: Hudson Valley Exposition

Description: The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce will be holding the 4th Annual Hudson Valley Exposition on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Riverfront Green Park in Peekskill, NY from 1pm-10pm. This year’s Exposition will include an artisan marketplace featuring arts and crafts made in the Hudson Valley, local groups and organizations of the region, local wellness providers, energy and technology vendors, an interactive kids zone filled with activities, and local area restaurants offering food and beer for all to enjoy. To kick off the evening, there will be 4 national acts performing on the main stage. This year’s performers are The Cosmic American Derelicts, The Blue Confusion, Chip Taylor, and Live at the Fillmore. Concluding the evening, there will be a special fireworks display.
