Event: 45th Annual Westport Fine Arts Festival

Description: This nationally recognized, juried art festival features a premier roster of more than 160 national and international fine artists exhibiting work in a wide variety of price ranges, subject matter and style.Festival attendees will once again enjoy the ability to wander down Main Street and experience top-tier works of art, musical performances, delicious cuisine from local eateries, specialty beverages for both adults and children, and a newly developed interactive Kids Create area for all age activities. This year, the festival will continue around Bedford Square by way of Elm Street and Church Lane, allowing expanded offerings in all areas.

Description: The Japan America Society of Rhode Island is celebrating the 35th year of the Black Ships Festival on July 13 – 15, 2018. Started in Newport in 1984, we are pleased to expand the Festival to Bristol this summer! The Black Ships Festival is a celebration of the friendship between the country of Japan and the state of Rhode Island in commemoration of Commodore Matthew C. Perry. Commodore Perry opened trade up between the United States and Japan with the Treaty of Kanakawa in 1864.
