Description: Summer officially begins with one of Connecticut’s favorite Independence Day celebration! Featuring the Asylum Hill Congregational Church Choir, the Newington Church of Christ Congregational Choir, and soprano Sonja Dutoit Tengblad, this program includes all of your patriotic favorites, plus a tribute to Leonard Bernstein. Stay for fireworks following the concert. Conducted by Adam Boyles.
Event: US Coast Guard Band “Stars and Stripes Forever”

Description: The program boasts an all-star line-up of American composers including Morton Gould, John Williams, Samuel Barber, and John Phillip Sousa. Soloists include Bass Clarinetist, Andrew Grenci and Soprano, Megan Weikleenget.
Event: Fireworks Cruise
Venue: India Point Park – Providence
Date: July 1 & 4
Description: Celebrate the 4th of July aboard an America’s Cup 12 Meter yacht in Newport, Rhode Island. The evening will start with a evening sail around Naragansett Bay. During your sail, if you wish, you may participate in the sailing of the America’s Cup 12 Meter yacht or just sit back and enjoy the sights of Newport! The captain and crew on board will help those wishing to be involved in the sailing – no sailing experience necessary! Then we will drop the sails for a sunset motor cruise around the harbor and end with a spectacular viewing of the fireworks from the water.

Description: Newport Polo, host of the Newport International Polo Series XXVI, is the home of the Westchester Polo Club, America’s first polo club, est. in 1876, and founding member of the United States Polo Association. The Newport International Polo Series features teams from around the world & from major US cities competing against USA / Newport. The coming season promises an exciting lineup of action-packed polo matches, international team debuts and memorable special events for fun on and off the field, supported by an enthusiastic spectator audience.

Venue: Audubon Greenwich – Greenwich

Description: Capture the magic of early summer by watching hundreds of fireflies at night! Join us for a short indoor introduction to learn about these enchanting creatures before taking a walk through the meadow to catch a glimpse of their mesmerizing bioluminescence. Bring your own jar with hole-punched lid or borrow one of ours.

Venue: Memorial Plaza – Pleasantville

With 56 vendors and 7 nearby parking lots, the Market is a delicious good time every Saturday – rain or shine, 8:30am – 1:00pm. Events for 6/30: Market Sprouts: Mount Pleasant Library (9:30am -11:00am), Music Series: dynamic guitar duo Isra-Alien, (10:00am -12:00pm), Visiting Organization: Open Door Family Medical Center WIC Program will present a farm-to-table recipe demo (10:30am -12:00pm).
