The 2018 edition features paintings and sculptural objects that are celebratory and expansive, each work a conscious offering of pleasure and outright, unabashed beauty. Luscious painting in a variety of media ranging from oil to encaustic to resin and powdered pigment by artists Jackie Battenfield (Brooklyn, NY), Mary Judge (St Louis, MO and Brooklyn, NY), Rachel Hellerich (New Haven, CT), Joanne Mattera (Salem, MA and NYC), Jenny Kemp (Utica, NY), Molly McCracken Kumar (Portland, OR) and Janna Watson (Toronto, Canada) are stunning contributions to this show. Catherine Latson’s (Yonkers, NY) nature-inspired wall sculptures and Peter Pincus’ (Rochester, NY) chromatic porcelain vessels further underscore the theme of the exhibition. Individually and collectively the work in this show is, well, just crazy beautiful.
