Description: Throughout the weekend, LEGO experts will engineer a big fun project made entirely out of LEGO blocks. The experts will create the scene, but it needs animals. Aquarium guests can build a small LEGO marine creature that will be part of the finished piece, or create pieces of their choosing. Look for additional LEGO-focused activities in the Aquarium during the special weekend.

Event: Valley Talks: The Triple Decker Menace

Description: The Museum of Work & Culture will offer the second installment of its free Valley Talks lecture series on Sunday, January 28, at 1:30pm. Rhode Island Historical Society Executive Director Dr. C. Morgan Grefe will present “The Triple-Decker Menace,” exploring the history of the the three-story housing so distinct to New England. Grefe will discuss the precursors of triple-deckers, their evolution, why they became so prevalent in New England, and their relationship to both industry and immigration. Seating is limited to 75 and is first-come, first-served.
Event: Young Artists 2018 Opening Reception
Venue: Katonah Museum of Art – Katonah

Description: This annual exhibition of high school seniors’ artwork from member schools, now in its 35th year, gives aspiring artists an opportunity to participate in all aspects of a museum exhibition. With guidance from professionals, the young artists organize, publicize, curate, and mount their own exhibition. Over 400 artworks from 40 local high schools across Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess, and Fairfield will be on view. Contact us to find out how your school can participate.
