Event: 26th Annual Holiday in the Depot

Description: Sleigh bells ring! Snow is glistening! Behold a beautiful sight and walk in a winter wonderland. The festivities kick off with the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree and carols sung by students at the Washington Montessori School and The Gunnery. Shortly after, Santa will arrive by a horse-drawn wagon and children will be able to tell him their wishes as well as pose for a photo. While you wait for a picture with Santa, you can take part in a holiday craft or go on a hayride given by the Utopia Percherons.
Event: 11th Annual Gingerbread Days
Venue: Noah Webster House & WeHa Historical Society – West Hartford
Date: December 8-9
Description: Each December the museum bakes batches and batches of gingerbread and use custom cookie cutters to create the foundation pieces for your own gingerbread house kit. Friday: adults only and BYOB. Saturday: families spend a kid-friendly day at three different session. Kids and adults can build a delightful (and delicious) house from holiday-themed candies, white icing and homemade cookies. The museum’s play area, Noah’s Discovery Learning Space is open during the day.
Event: Santa at Stillwater!
Venue: Stillwater Mill Complex – Harrisville
Date: December 9
Description: Santa at Stillwater event offers family friendly Holiday Season activities. Come visit from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. Santa arrives by Harrisville Fire Truck. Tell Santa your Christmas wishes, he’ll have a small gift for those on his “good” list. Warm up with donuts & hot chocolate. Enjoy holiday music provided by the Burrillville Middle School Chorus. Get your face painted in the Library Cafe & decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus in the Community Room. There will be a Blizzard Survival Basket Raffle and an option to purchase holiday cards designed by A.T. Levy School Students. Proceeds benefit needy Burrillville families.
Event: Christmas Family Fun
Venue: Linden Place Mansion – Bristol
Date: December 9
Description: Linden Place Mansion welcomes families to the mansion on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 from 1 pm to 3 pm featuring a special appearance by Santa Claus. Write a Christmas letter or list to deliver personally to Santa. Take pictures with Santa and participate in our Instagram scavenger hunt contest. Enjoy a snack while you tour the mansion’s festive holiday decorations in every room. Bring an unwrapped toy to put underneath Linden Place’s Christmas tree to be donated to Toys for Tots.
Event: Dickens’s ‘Christmas Carol’
Venue: Philipsburg Manor – Tarrytown
Date: December 9-10
Description: Experience the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge like you never have before! Nestle in to historic the Old Dutch Church and let master storyteller Jonathan Kruk, complete with musical accompaniment, regale you with his adaptation of this Charles Dickens classic. Performances last about an hour. Recommended for ages 10+. This Historic Hudson Valley event takes place at the Old Dutch Church, just across the street from Philipsburg Manor.
Event: Holidays on the Hill
Venue: Lasdon Park – Armonk
Date: December 9-10
Description: Join us this holiday season at Lasdon Park for our Holidays on the Hill event! Santa will be hearing children’s wishes in The Main House from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.! Bring your camera to capture this special moment! Model trains will be chugging through the main house, which will feature a fully decorated poinsettia tree, and include holiday displays of Rudolf, Charlie Brown and the Grinch. The Lasdon Conservatory will be open with the debut of “Tropical Christmas Treasures,” highlighting tropical plants used during the holidays. In addition to the holiday hours, the conservatory will be open Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 adults and $3 children 12 and under.
