Description: The event has always existed to give back to the community, and has always been much more than a tennis tournament; it is a leading example of leveraging a large-scale international sporting event to generate millions of dollars in regional economic impact and build community pride, spirit and engagement, especially among youth.  The WTA event features five different competitions including WTA qualifying, WTA singles, WTA doubles, PowerShares Legends, and the U.S. Open National Playoffs Championship.

Event: 43rd Annual Milford Oyster Festival
Venue: Downtown – Milford
Date:  August 19th
Description: The festival has one of the largest variety of oysters at any festival in the country. There will be 35,000 oysters with 19 varieties from eight states on the East Coast. In addition to great food, wine and a craft beer garden, the festival has a classic car show, more than 200 arts and craft vendors, schooner rides, Canoe and Kayak Races, amusement rides, children and teen activities and exhibitors.

Description: The Fair runs for five days (Wednesday – Sunday), taking place August 16 – 20, 2017. Admission includes access to all daily concerts, special acts and events, the giant midway and kiddy land area (all ride tickets and games separate), all agricultural events and shows, exhibits and displays, tractor and horse pulls, the farm museum, and much, much more! Event: Pirate Quest
Venue: Philipsburg Manor – Sleepy Hollow

Description: On weekends in July and August, Historic Hudson Valley invites families to Philipsburg Manor for Pirate Quest, an immersive interactive experience. Kids can play a pirate-themed mobile game, explore the grounds of the manor, meet pirates, watch a sword fight and get a temporary tattoo. he mobile game will lead children around the grounds of the manor while teaching them about trade in colonial America. They’ll make decisions about what goods to load onto their digital pirate ships with the ultimate goal of making off with the most bounty. A paper version of the game will also be available at the Visitor Center.
